Originally from the Orkney Islands, I moved to London and have built my artistic practice alongside a career within the prison service and family life. My work explores themes of constraint and the transformative, liberating possibilities found in sublime organic forms and seasonal light.

Deep memories of vast, open horizon juxtaposed with urban encounter permeate my visual language. My work occupies a threshold, a boundary, where city meets island, and where containment confronts space. Natural phenomena act as tethering points and structural guides.

Forms collide, coalesce and dissipate, evoking connections that come and go. Sites are compressed, expanded and held, reinterpreted through a lyrical prism to recognise an edgeless world.

Gestural lines and fragments are layered, subverting traditional processes with the intention of finding an immersive and hopeful place to rest.

A quest to capture a sense of home recognises the transient nature inherent in belonging.
